Thoughts on New Year's Resolutions #2

I am not sure if this a popular resolution but some people decide that they want to eat healthier. It might get challenging depending on your budget and what is available in your area. Just remember to make small changes in your diet that can lead to big changes in the long term.

Charity begins with whoever is around

Sometimes we think we are not doing any real help unless we are helping starving children in Africa or elsewhere, but even in America, 1 in 4 children are at risk of going to bed hungry, and need a helping hand. So we should not shy away from helping them too. Also, if you have a friend or enemy  close-by or afar who needs anything, be it morally, physically or psychologically just reach out and help them. The funny thing about helping others is when you realize that in the end you also feel wonderful....it is like a divine give and take. Try it and let me know....Great day!

Poverty....oh poverty

I have never thought that poverty was similar to violence. But now, that I think of the forces behind poverty....I am finally able to see how it could be a form of violence. I think there are some oppressive systems in place which would rather think of profit than the cost of a human life. I am yet to learn about those systems, but take time with me today to reflect on how we can help uproot the systematic causes of poverty. Peace everybody!
