Thoughts on New Year's Resolutions #3

A common resolution for students might be to get higher grades or excel on a standardized test like the SAT,  TOEFL, GMAT, GRE, MCAT, PCAT and so on. You need to remember that you are more than a grade. Do your best and don't forget to maximize your academic strengths. Don't waste on your time on your weaknesses that might take a lot of your time and blind you from your underlying academic strengths.

How to Overcome Writer's Block

Have you ever had a moment when you wanted to write but didn't know what to write? If you aren't in school then it won't maybe matter that much. For those of you in college, I bet you all know how challenging it can get especially when you have to write on something that you are uinterested. Here are three things to do:

  1. Write down the ideas that cross your mind as you might find a connection

  2. Do extra research beyond what is assigned in class in order to find an angle of interest

  3. Remind yourself that one of the signs of a good writer is someone who can write about something uninteresting and make it interesting

Challenges in Education

Education can open your eyes in ways that you never imagined. So why is the education system of some places structured in a way that students merely memorize to get by? And if you ask them in a week or year about something they know nothing. So how in the world can true learning be achieved? Since true learning should go hand in hand with a healthy sense of memory.

To All the Classmates I've Ever Had

I may remember some of you. While sadly enough, some of you are not in my head. What made some of you remain edged in my memory even after many years? Why did I always think we would be together at-least sub-consciously? All I wonder is when will I see one or all of you ever again. And, if we don't ever meet thanks for being in my life even for a minute.

How to Deal with Academic Challenges

There are times when things don't work out even after you have put your best foot forward. It could happen in elementary school, college, university, or anywhere. Here are some things to remember if your grades or any academic challenges make you doubt your career choice.
  • Most people change their careers many times throughout their lives so you can change your classes too if possible
  • Ask yourself what is at stake if you decide to stay or leave a certain course of study
  • Ask yourself whether there are other similar career fields in which you could find satisfaction and then tailor your academic schedule to include those courses

Education for the Sake of Education

Do you just want to get an education for the sake of an education? Don't simply study something for the sake of studying if you have other options. Find ways to learn more about yourself so you can increase your intellect and who knows???...maybe add something substantial to a certain field within or outside your niche.

Dreams and reality

Have you ever had dreams that only seemed like something only accomplishable in dreams? Well sometimes your dreams are meant to stay there. But sometimes you have to take the extra step and make your dream a reality. You will be surprised how capable you are, and you will end up not only bringing the best in yourself but also in others! So exercise perseverance, passion, and patience and you will be surprised that some of your dreams were not only meant to be dreams.

Giving up or in...

Whenever you change your mind after trying very hard at something...don't feel defeated. Change is good. It's like a law of nature, because if nothing changes we won't have day and night or different seasons. Nevertheless, make sure that you make the right kind of change. Weigh all the pros and cons, listen to advice, and then follow your instinct. Be strong....being strong is not only about holding on and continuing. Learn to know when to start at one in order to win the war.
Great day!

Purpose in life....

Have you ever though about what is your life purpose beyond your career? Is there really a day for us to figure out what is our specific reason for being on earth? The crazy thing is that we sometimes flee from our gifts and missions. And crazier than that, is that sometimes there is  no definite way to know for sure  that something is your purpose based on whether it brings you pain or joy or whether it is done with ease or difficulty. But I still think that passion is a good way to figure out our purpose. By figuring out what our passions are, it can be one way to begin a step at a time to find our true purpose in life that transcends our individual happiness, and goes on to make the world a better place.
Great day!

Education for life

It's Friday!!! I used to be so excited about weekends when I was a first year student in college. Now that I am a third year student, I'm like well let it be. I don't mean to be pessimistic or anything, but sometimes after a week long of education and education...I'm just tired.
In spite of that, I strongly think education is a great thing to attain, and I mean a life-long education beyond that degree or Phd. And of course, our teachers aren't there to just feed us with knowledge, but also there to light the sparks of creativity in our minds. If you don't have such a teacher, then be one to yourself, and I bet you won't regret that decision for the rest of your life. Try taking free and for charge courses online and get your associates, bachelors or doctorate. Learning is fun and when done right can expand your horizons in ways you can never imagine.
Great weekend everybody from America to the Phillipines, and everyone else...Love you all!
