If you don't want to be a mentor then don't ever offer to be one. A mentor is an important person to the mentee. It is important to remember that the mentor has the upper hand because they have more experience. Don't wait on your mentee to reach out to you. You need to be the one to check on them occassionally to make sure they get where you are or more. If need arises, I will talk about the responsibility of the mentee another day.
