Poverty....oh poverty

I have never thought that poverty was similar to violence. But now, that I think of the forces behind poverty....I am finally able to see how it could be a form of violence. I think there are some oppressive systems in place which would rather think of profit than the cost of a human life. I am yet to learn about those systems, but take time with me today to reflect on how we can help uproot the systematic causes of poverty. Peace everybody!

Achieving beyond your achievements

Everybody usually has a goal whether they are students, mothers, teachers. Having and achieving goals is a great thing, but we should not allow them to define us. We should know that our essence is more than any amount of awards or honors that we will ever receive after reaching our milestones. And of course, doing so can prevent us from comparing our plight to others, but instead we can celebrate their achievements, and encourage them to excel more.

Silence is sometimes loud

Silence is sometimes golden. When I think of some of the people I admire, they all share one thing in common; they use silence at the right time. Silence when used right or in moderation is a great teacher to the self and others.
Sometimes we just need to take a break from all the noise and distractions and remain silent. Through silence we can spare ourselves a lot of pain or confusion; as remaining silent can give you more time to think before you open your mouth.
I believe some of the greatest ideas are born out of silence applied at the right time!
Great day everyone!!!!

Attitude determines your altitude

There are times in life when you might feel like nothing is working out. You might even feel like giving up, and simply just existing for the sake of it. But a bad attitude won't take you so far. So let us learn to change the inner parts of us beginning with our attitudes....which is a changeable thing before seeking to change the outer circumstances.

Are you putting off your happiness, or do you know someone who is? Putting off your happiness, and daily living in misery is like robbing one's self of the beauty of life. Every day should not just be a day to get over with it, but one to cherish. Learn to make everyday count with the currency of optimism in every circumstance. Take time to dance through the rains and sunshine of life!!!

Love and and love

I think that "I love you" is sometimes easier to say than, "I trust you." Because trust is not the easiest thing, although to truly enjoy loving someone you have to trust them totally. A lack of trust is actually something very dangerous that has the potential to break the best of relationships. A lack of trust is toxic. So it is important to get rid of any emotional, physical or psychological baggage related to trust in order to have the freedom to build trust in your relationships a day and step at a time. Honesty is of course an essential step in doing so...don't be afraid...just say it. But watch how you say what you want to say...Timing is key or else you might  end up tearing  down your relationship instead of building it.

Seeing the good in and through the ugly and bad

A lot of the same things happen to people everyday. It is very interesting how everyone chooses to react. I bet all of those know those people who always have  the right attitude everyday. Do they have perfect lives? Heck no, I don't think so. They have just mastered the art of blocking out apparent negativities that can darken their days. It is possible and has been done countless times. So in whatever you are going through don't let your circumstances determine your reaction. Just lay back and close your eyes, and choose to search or hold on to the past, present or coming good. Believe that life is beautiful.

Time managers and wasters

Time is one of those valuable things that can easily be taken for granted if one has no game plan. Sometimes we just kill time intentionally or unintentionally while doing things are not worthy to ourselves or others. We gotta stop letting time pass for the sake of time because there is no time bank or a rewind button on time. The sad thing is that lost time can never be recovered, so we need to know our priorities in life; because our priorities will determine our time usage. And if you don't know your me on this; Someone who knows their priorities will use your time.

Beauty in its essence

There has always been an ongoing debate about beauty like the one about love. What is true beauty? In every part of the world, one might be surprised that there are some differences, and even similarities in what is considered beautiful. Even throughout time people in different cultures have changed their ideas on what constitutes outer beauty. One interesting thing that I have found has not changed much throughout time and cultures is inner beauty. That type of beauty seems to be the one that has stood the test of time, and of course has the capability to shine through. So just know today that you are beautiful just the way you are; don't be afraid to let your inner beauty that is at the core of the human soul to shine, and radiate your world!
Thanks again fans from coast to coast and around the world for all the blog love. We have reached 1000 views so far. This calls for  a celebration:))) Happy weekend!!!

Money and life

Some might disagree, and say money is everything. Well money is something, but without other aspects of life added to it, money sometimes has the potential to illuminate  the shallowness of life. So yeah everybody gotta make their dollars, but don't make earning the money everything. Learn to make healthy compromises when it comes to money, but also be aware of the things that money can't buy like lost time with loved ones, health, and much more on your quest for money.
In other words, don't let money dictate the inner try to "make the money work for you, instead of working for the money."

Drama is not worth it y'all

Do you think it is only girls who can be dramatic? Are guys really never ever dramatic?...just wondering. Some people like drama, and live for it. While some people hate drama but unconsciously embrace it. Whatever category you fall into...remember drama starts with a d for Damaging. I don't know anyone yet who loves a cycle of drama in their lives. So if you don't want drama just make the wise choice to avoid it and move on. Life is too short to keep making a big deal out of things that are not worth your time, energy or resources. Enjoy a lovely drama-free day everyone!

Not today?...then never?

Have you ever wanted to do something for a long time? Are there things you had to start doing regardless of obstacles, because if you didn't you would never move forward? It is good to begin at whatever stage you are. If you don't start taking a step at a time to reach your might end up only being a dream planner. Don't be afraid to go into the unknown....just keep your focus and be flexible or you might never begin what you want to begin. "If not NOW....When?"

Giving up or in...

Whenever you change your mind after trying very hard at something...don't feel defeated. Change is good. It's like a law of nature, because if nothing changes we won't have day and night or different seasons. Nevertheless, make sure that you make the right kind of change. Weigh all the pros and cons, listen to advice, and then follow your instinct. Be strong....being strong is not only about holding on and continuing. Learn to know when to start at one in order to win the war.
Great day!

Purpose in life....

Have you ever though about what is your life purpose beyond your career? Is there really a day for us to figure out what is our specific reason for being on earth? The crazy thing is that we sometimes flee from our gifts and missions. And crazier than that, is that sometimes there is  no definite way to know for sure  that something is your purpose based on whether it brings you pain or joy or whether it is done with ease or difficulty. But I still think that passion is a good way to figure out our purpose. By figuring out what our passions are, it can be one way to begin a step at a time to find our true purpose in life that transcends our individual happiness, and goes on to make the world a better place.
Great day!

One step at a time

I think it is interesting how in the quest to succeed we get so fired up and stressed, that we forget to even take one step...a baby step. We should really strive to start whether the conditions are ideal or not. I think it is great to have big dreams, but the art of accomplishing big things in small steps is also a valuable skill many of us overlook. So remember to dream big and not to wait forever to take that step or you will never learn to walk, run or fly!
Happy day!

Opposition means "Let's soar!"

Hey there everybody around the world! Today we are going to talk about opposition. Have you ever sometimes felt like you wanted to stop because of opposition? But who said that opposition has to be a red light? You never know maybe opposition is sometimes your yellow light telling you to wait a little longer...or maybe it is your green light telling you to go with all your might in pursuit of your dreams. Whenever you want to stop because of opposition when you know you have to go on just remember that a "kite rises against the wind." So go out and soar like a kite...Happy weekend!

Education for life

It's Friday!!! I used to be so excited about weekends when I was a first year student in college. Now that I am a third year student, I'm like well let it be. I don't mean to be pessimistic or anything, but sometimes after a week long of education and education...I'm just tired.
In spite of that, I strongly think education is a great thing to attain, and I mean a life-long education beyond that degree or Phd. And of course, our teachers aren't there to just feed us with knowledge, but also there to light the sparks of creativity in our minds. If you don't have such a teacher, then be one to yourself, and I bet you won't regret that decision for the rest of your life. Try taking free and for charge courses online and get your associates, bachelors or doctorate. Learning is fun and when done right can expand your horizons in ways you can never imagine.
Great weekend everybody from America to the Phillipines, and everyone else...Love you all!

True love ...a love so true

Love is that one 4 lettered word that has intrigued humans for ages. What about true love? The definition of true love is very different from infatuation or the one night stand love that is usually popularized by the media.
True love is not easy to find or even define. But you can imagine what you want in a lover. You can also work hard on being that lover who will be someone's true love, and you might be surprised that you end up meeting your true love in the process.
True love is not an easy road for everyone but it is  a path worth travelling:)!

Finding and maintaining balance

We all have our goals and dreams. Everyday we try to do things that can help us get there quickly. But I wonder whether in our pursuit, we sometimes end up losing some important things. For others it might mean losing time with family, friends or time alone. Of course, our dreams are important but we should not allow them to be the only driving force in our lives, because even too much of a good thing can turn into a bad thing. So let us strive to practice moderation in different parts of our life, and little by little, we will enjoy the fruits of balance.

Believe in you today!

It sometimes seem so easy to encourage others to believe in themselves. We sometimes even do it when we don't actually believe in ourselves. It's sad because if we could believe in ourselves more...maybe we could be of more help to others.  So don't forget to be you today and believe in yourself!

Happiness is a daily choice

Happiness...isn't this word used when it comes to anything from love to jobs. Everybody just wants to be happy? Being happy seems to be something easier for some people than others. But I don't think that means that such people have it perfect everyday. I think that such people have learned the beauty of not allowing their circumstances to control their happiness. I do not know whatever makes you happy...but seek to find that outlet or even outlets so that you can be firm, and remain happy in spite of the challenges that you encounter daily. Make being happy a daily priority...a never ending journey...and not a temporary state of mind that is attained for a second or just a day.

Peace is a choice...

One thing that happens in life is we realize that we may never enjoy peace if we don't create it. Most of the times, I hear the word peace it seems to be something that has to  do with having ideal conditions in every aspect of our relationships, and also other areas of life. Truth is that may never be the case. If you want temporary peace you might have it in  transient circumstances. But if you want lasting peace you might really want to learn how to find it, and keep it in the midst of ups and downs. Does anybody have ideas on how to do that?  Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comment box.
Good day everybody!

Faith through it all

Different people define faith differently based on their experiences and backgrounds. Regardless of that, I think we can still agree that we have seen people who were positive in spite of all odds....what did they have? Faith.
Faith is all about not backing down when you are hardest hit. Faith is about moving forward in spite of is a mix of hope, persistence, and determination.
So even when our hopes and dreams get clouded by "darkness" let us believe that we will either "stand" or "fly" through it all in the end.
Great weekend and thanks for the views everyone from America, Germany, India, United Kingdom, Tanzania, and everywhere else!

Focusing to get by...

One of the challenging things in life for some people is realizing that there are boundless opportunities. I guess it must be part of human nature for us to devalue our other capabilities, and sometimes aimlessly focus on that which is not attainable. There is a line between realistically stretching yourself, and foolishly attempting to do something which brings you, and all your other capabilities down.
So we have to choose our battles wisely, as we pursue our goals in order to win the war in whatever area of life we are faced with challenges. We can do it Olympian style...let us focus on excelling in the little things we do everyday, and one day we will realize that all those little things we did finally amount to something big and wonderful. Moral of the story: Take a step at a time!

Attitude will take you there....

It's crazy how much people have to put up with everyday. Yet it is still amazing how some people have the gift of the right attitude. Sometimes we tell ourselves that if we had this or that....or maybe if that one person would change then we would have the right attitude. Strangely enough, it's funny that an attitude can stay with you in good or even bad times. So let us attempt to develop the right attitude everyday that will help us to rise beyond any circumstance around us.

Patience is a virtue...

Waiting for that interview letter, that "I love you" or that meal is not always the easiest thing. When it comes to love, the human mind, body and spirit feels so many emotions but it takes a special kind of lover to say, "I love you and I can wait". Patience in love or any other area is not indeed for the weak but for the strong only. And, of course it is hard waiting for a lot of stuff...we all have our pet peeves when it comes to that. But have you sometimes noticed that some of the best things in life come out of waiting or let's say being patient?

Persistence beats the odds...

There are some things that we dream of doing that sometimes drain our energy for dreams worth pursuing. Or other times in the process of making our dreams a reality we encounter challenges. I think one of the keys to overcoming such downward circumstances is to be persistent. We should never let a "single defeat" cause us to lose sight of our coming victory.
So in whatever you do matter how it gets don't forget to remain persistent and optimistic!

Giving and giving is priceless

Today as we go about our daily activities...let us not forget the power of giving. Giving should not only be about money or possessions. Giving can also encompass the giving of time, energy and resources to those in need.

If you ever doubt the beauty of giving...take some time to reminisce on where you would have been if nobody at all in your life had never given something to you.

Happy Monday!

In life there are many things that people fear consciously and unconsciously. However, we cannot always tell that everybody is afraid...why? Because some people know how to use their fears constructively...fear can sometimes be a motivator if used in the right context. At the same time fear can be stagnating, and at such times it is important to find plenty of reasons to be brave, and do what has to be done.

As everyone one of you starts this week, I hope that you all find more reasons to be brave than fearful. Face your fear then overcome it and you will be surprised by the outcome.

Kindness is golden...

In our everyday experiences it is sometimes easy to forget the beauty of kindness. There is always someone around who could do better with a little kindness. Let us take time to think about someone around who is despised the most for a reason or no reason at all....kindness can definitely help that person. Also, don't forget to be kind to those who have been so loving and supportive through everything.

And if you got any enemies ...the hate will kill you in big and small try to kill the hate with kindness before it kills you.

Great Saturday everybody!

Forgiving and letting go...

Have you ever wondered why forgiveness is sometimes so hard? Why do we always want to expect that others will never wrong us? Of course there is a difference between forgiving someone for backbiting, and forgiving someone for doing something serious like murder. But one way  or the other, I think that realizing forgiveness is a two way street is a part of healing. Thus, in order to forgive others for anything, it is also important to make the decision that you don't want to remain hurt, vengeful, bitter or disappointed. Sometimes I think forgiveness is a choice we make when we decide whether we want to keep holding onto destructive pain ...or do we want to let go of the pain so we don't keep repeating the cycle in our minds and potentially harm others?
