The Importance of Focus

Seeking Perfection

When people act weird don't ignore it. People have reasons as to why they act the way they do. It's no use being in denial. At the end of the day, we have to accept the fact that no one including ourselves is perfect and work on improving ourselves and others.

Do you Hate Reading Books?

Why do some people love reading books? Why do others hate it? Some of this might be caused by what you have observed. If you have always been surrounded by people who read a million books but did nothing with their lives, you might not be interested in books. On the other hand, if you saw people's lives being changed by books you will likely love to read. Regardless, of your situation, pick up a book and read it. Readers get way ahead in life....yeah you heard me....Readers are leaders, as they say.

What is Your Listening Attitude?

Do you listen to people in order to hear what you want to hear? Do you listen to people in love, anger, jealousy, or bitterness? A  lot of times our attitude while listening to others will affect the way we understand what they are saying and why they are saying whatever in such a manner. Check your attitude before you listen so you can gain the most.

Learning about Yourself

Have you ever asked yourself why you have the friends you have? Why do you like the foods you like? Why do you like the music you like? Why you dress the way you dress? By doing some inner reflection about different facets of your life with the help of some trusted people you will be surprised about how much you can learn about yourself. We all have the moments where we are so caught up in trying to understand the way that others act...the one thing that we tend to disregard a lot of times is ourselves. We need to have a better understanding ourselves and never cease to learn about ourselves in order for us to be able to orient our lives in a manner that is most appropriate.

Understanding and knowledge

A lot of value is sometimes highly placed on understanding. Nevertheless, we should realize that acquiring a library of knowledge in our minds won't do us any good unless we have the understanding that can help to transform that knowledge into something pragmatic.

True love

Everyone wants to fall in love and stay there forever? So we end up not only wanting love, but true love, when we eventually decide to settle down. But true love is not just something, as easy as abc and 123, it is an everyday active process that requires two hearts to be actively engaged in being trustworthy, romantic, understanding and much more. The acronym for TRUE LOVE  below, might be a great reminder, and of course don't hold on to that person too tight. Let them also have their own time to do whatever it is, and of course because they are your true love, the necessary time apart won't change a thing.



 

The art of advice

There are times people share things with you. Sometimes all they want is just a listening ear. Not everyone wants to hear advice. So just take it slow. Listen and listen real good. Then you will know what to say, as there is a time for everything. And you will know when your advice is needed, and then you can share it in the most empathetic manner possible. Happy week!
 

Humility and rising

Some people might think humility is a bad thing, but sometimes we don't even have to look so far, as nature shows us that being "lower like an ocean can give you power from rivers."And from that power, guess what? You can use to positively impact the lives of people around you and even afar. Also, just remember that no matter what your plight in life is, it's not all about you. Somebody must have made your life easier in one way or another, even directly or indirectly. So be humble and give back everyday in big and small ways, that is the essence of human life and nature.

Waiting and waiting

 Don't we all hate waiting? Funny enough, we are sometimes the ones who keep ourselves, and others waiting. Sometimes the best things in life take time. Sometimes what we want or need isn't ready, so we have to wait. So what should we do while waiting? One thing to remember is, that if you know what your waiting for is valuable, then give it some credit, and be patient....wait with a good attitude:)

Feelings and feelings

Feelings are an important part of the human experience, and I guess learning to really listen to them, is what grants them significance. Do you remember how your first kiss felt? What about when you accomplished something big? When you first met your enemy or friend? Feelings are unpredictable and sometimes not the best guide of action, but keep an eye on how you make others feel based on their reaction to you. Watch it!;)

Attitude determines your altitude

There are times in life when you might feel like nothing is working out. You might even feel like giving up, and simply just existing for the sake of it. But a bad attitude won't take you so far. So let us learn to change the inner parts of us beginning with our attitudes....which is a changeable thing before seeking to change the outer circumstances.

Love and trust...trust and love

I think that "I love you" is sometimes easier to say than, "I trust you." Because trust is not the easiest thing, although to truly enjoy loving someone you have to trust them totally. A lack of trust is actually something very dangerous that has the potential to break the best of relationships. A lack of trust is toxic. So it is important to get rid of any emotional, physical or psychological baggage related to trust in order to have the freedom to build trust in your relationships a day and step at a time. Honesty is of course an essential step in doing so...don't be afraid...just say it. But watch how you say what you want to say...Timing is key or else you might  end up tearing  down your relationship instead of building it.

Inner understanding leads to outer understanding

Sometimes we complain and throw a fit about how certain people or things make us feel uncomfortable. We should not let the discomfort end there, but we should take time to do inner reflection in order to learn more about ourselves so we can find an effective way to confront the issue or person wisely.

Understanding is indeed an important skill in life...whether at work or play or with family, friends or lovers. So we should definitely  make sure we have an open understanding in order to live life wisely, and of course to the full.



Listening from the heart...

Sometimes it seems that speakers are highly valued in everyday life. Speaking is indeed a wonderful art when done well at the right time with the right words to the right person. Along, with speaking, listening is also a part of speech that should not be forgotten as it helps to foster effective communication. I love to speak to different people about different things but I am now learning that I have to listen well in order to not interrupt people, and also to gauge the course of the conversation. So indeed let's remember the old saying that "we have 2 ears and 2 eyes  but only 1 mouth."

Humility is a treasure

Today I am pondering on humility. What makes us proud? Why do we sometimes compares ourselves to others in order to feel better? I bet a psychologist or someone with a good head on their shoulders would know. As for now, I don't know...I know I just want to be humble...I want to be in the valley.
